Reviving Responders and NEMSMA came together about 1 year ago to form the NEMSA Practitioner Mental Health and Wellbeing Committee, we knew when we decided to pursue the topic of suicide and mental health in the EMS community one year ago at the Ambulance Service Manager Course that our course project would turn into what it has become today.
It is only by standing on the shoulders of giants that we are where we are today. Thank you to everyone who has brought awareness to this issue and and even bigger thank you to everyone who has joined with us to get the research done that is needed to start making real changes to the culture of EMS and all other elements that has lead to such a drastic increase of critical stress in paramedicine and an alarmingly large rate of suicide.
Thank you ALL!!!
