President

Amy Young, BBA, CCEMT-P, currently is dedicated full time to the operation of Reviving Responders. Amy, until January of 2016 was the Director of Ground Operations West at CareFlite in Grand Prairie, Texas, before leaving to spend more time with her family and to pursue her passion for Reviving Responders full time. She’s been a paramedic since 1996 and has worked in hospital-based, rural, and third-service EMS systems. She holds a critical care paramedic certification from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in management from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.

Amy is one of the 7 co-founders of reviving responders and has been the figure head since the beginning, Amy spends her energies and efforts connecting the members of Reviving responders to those who request our information, want to assist us in our research and setting up presentations at various conferences.

 

Vice President

Monique Rose, CCEMT-P, is a Captain and works in the special operations division at Humboldt General Hospital in Winnemucca, Nev. She’s been a paramedic for several years and also serves as a Logistic Chief, coordinating special events. She also serves as a reserve police officer and tactical paramedic. She holds a paramedic specialist (critical care) certification from the University of Iowa and is working toward an Associate’s of Applied Science from the College of Southern Nevada.

 

Reviving Responders is the brain child of Monique, she was the one who proposed this idea to this group and everyone immediately knew that this was something that needed to be passionately pursued. Monique has done an amazing job of bravely opening up and sharing her intimate story of first hand experience with critical stress. Monique shares this story at most presentations we give, adding to her journey on the road to recovery.

 

Sergeant at Arms

Chad Newland EMT-P, is the Deputy Operations Manager for the Contra Costa County (Calif.) division of American Medical Response. He started his career with this division eight years ago after obtaining his paramedic license in 2007, and worked as both a front-line paramedic and a paramedic supervisor. He holds a Bachelor’s in Physics from the California State University, Sacramento.

Chad is also one of the 7 co-founders of Reviving Responders and has worked tirelessly on our JEMS article, our white paper, and frequently presents our information at conferences. Currently Chad is in charge of our By laws and keeping the peace at board meetings. 

 

Secretary

Erich Barber BA, NREMT-B, has been working for Grand County (Colo.) Emergency Medical Services (GCEMS) for over 10 years. He earned an EMT certification while serving his community as a volunteer firefighter. Now a Captain at GCEMS, he manages the Mountain Medical Response Team, a specialized division that assists search and rescue by providing medical care in the backcountry of the Rocky Mountains. Before EMS, he worked in the mental health field, utilizing his bachelor’s degree in psychology and youth guidance he earned through Colorado Christian University. Positions included executive director of a residential treatment center, group living director and counselor.

Erich is also one of the 7 co-founders of Reviving Responders, Erich isn't in the spotlight but is a key player in the background workings of Reviving Responders. He was a key contributor in our JEMS article and has established our non-profit status.

 

Treasurer

John Harvey Flight Paramedic, Battalion Chief with Miami County EMS, Kansas.

John is one of the 7 founding members of Reviving Responders and continues to attend conferences promoting Reviving Responders and our efforts as well as fill in with tasks as needed.

Crystal Walker, BS, MPAS, PA-C, currently provides medical care to several underserved populations in Tarrant County.

Crystal is the wife of Amy Young and has been by her side since the beginning, Crystal although not considered a co-founder was there in the bakery the very first day Reviving Responders was founded. She has been supporting Reviving Responders since day one, literally. She has set up the Reviving Responders website and maintains most of our social media (so be nice to her, she doesn’t have a degree in this stuff!). Crystal spends her time trying to promote Reviving Responders to the community to get our name out there and to get support and donations for our mission and will frequently attend conferences as a supportive staff.

Cord Abbott, Paramedic Shift Commander, Montgomery County Hospital District, Texas.

Cord although not active in the day to day activities of Reviving Responders continues to lend his support to our efforts. Cord is one of the 7 co-founding members of Reviving Responders.
